The Way it Was. (Vintage)

Hey, and welcome to 0ur blog. Today we are looking at the way things were and take a light hearted look at the way protraying the male form over the last one hundred and fifty years or so.
Generally in the early to mid 20th century publications were centered around healthy outdoor living in magazines like Health and Efficiency and Health and Strength.
Before that the great 19th/20th century artist Henry Scott Tuke (Pic 01) concentrated on painting the young male form, his paintings are now greatly saught after by collecters.20th Century photographers were the Camillo series (Pic 13) and mid 20th Century Tony Patrioli (Pics. 3,5,12, 20 and Header) it is said he started by photoing his boy friends.
There are other illustrations posted one of the world wide favs. Christopher Atkins (Pic. 18)and Ronnie Mills (Pic 19) and others.
We hope you enjoyed our brief stroll down Memory Lane, for some of us that is Ugh :>{
And we hope you come back for our more usual features starting with The Sporting Life Magazine on Sunday.
For now, enjoy and have a great weekend.
Cheers Paul.
