After suffering through the 49ers-Cardinals debacle last Monday night, football fans get a marquee match up tonight as the 9-2 New York Jets travel to 9-2 New England.
What’s at Stake
The winner keeps themselves in position for the AFC East title and possible home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The Jets, by virtue of their Week 2 over the Patriots in New York, could lose this game and remain in the running for the AFC East title. While a Patriots’ loss in all likelihood means New England is looking at the fifth seed in the playoffs.
The Numbers
New England quarterback Tom Brady has won 25 straight games as a home starter and although the Jets are 5-0 on the road this season, they’ve yet to play a team who has a current winning record on the road — Miami, Buffalo, Denver, Detroit and Cleveland.
For as good as Michael Vick has been this year Tom Brady is the top-rated quarterback in the league again. Sanchez is barely completing 55% of his attempts. Some would say well the Jets don’t pass much and Sanchez is more of a caretaker, but that’s not the case: Sanchez has nine more attempts than Brady this season.
12-15 MPH winds, which are are expected in Foxborough tonight, can make average quarterbacks look bad and right now Sanchez is an average NFL quarterback.
Predictably Predictable Prediction
The Jets love to put pressure on quarterbacks and will try to make Tom Brady uncomfortable in the pocket. However, Brady may be the best in the game today at recognizing coverages and making pre-snap adjustments.

Sporn Outlook
From a sporn perspective, MNF matches up two of the hottest quarterback in the AFC. The debate rages on, mostly in my pants. What do sports fags think?
